The 1010 Network – Huduma ya Kumi Kumi

Our networking initiative incentivizes participation in The 1010 Project Network by providing trainings, workshops, and access to external resources.

Every three months, we conduct impact assessments with our partners in Kenya. We ask a collection of questions tailored to their category of organization based on the Millennium Development Goals. By asking the same questions over several years we can generate time-series data to measure progress. We monitor each organization to ensure that they are continually growing and improving so that they can continue to meet the needs of their communities. We also rely on our Country Director in Kenya, Fred Afwai, to visit each organization and to verify that they are making the appropriate progress. Finally, each partner is subject to review by their peers through Huduma ya Kumi Kumi (”The 1010 Project” in Swahili), a monthly meeting of associated community-based organizations in Kenya . These meetings allow our partners to share best practices and to hold each other accountable.
