An experience in nonprofit management, operations, and community organizing
Summary
This experience is an opportunity to gain valuable insight into actual non-profit operations, and to better correlate academic experience with professional experience. Implementation is accomplished by allowing our interns to assume real roles and significant responsibility inside the organization.
Internship Objectives
1. Skill development: Interns will learn and improve specific skills through observation and application.
2. Broader knowledge: Interns will acquire an understanding of the nonprofit workplace, operational procedures, and organizational structure.
3. Career Awareness: Interns will have an accurate picture of specific career positions and the qualities, education, and training required for them.
4. Personal Development: Through this challenging experience, interns will have the opportunity to enhance valuable professional traits such as confidence, assertiveness, work ethic, and decision-making.
5. Application of Integration: Interns will be able to put into practice their values, education, and recent experience in a professional environment.
Requirements for Participation
1. At least 18 years old
2. Current undergraduate or graduate student or recent graduate
3. Commitment, 10-20 hours a week depending on the specific intern position
