Ryan Linstrom

Position: Design Coordinator

Involved since: June 2008

Bio Information:

During the holiday season of 2005, Ryan Linstrom took a trip to the islands on Lake Victoria in Uganda. It was there that his life became intertwined with individuals that changed his view of poverty. Dedicated, creative, and full of hope, the islanders told him as he parted, “You may leave Africa, but Africa will never leave you.”

Three years later, they’re still right. Those relationships still affect and inspire him daily.

Ryan has been the Design Coordinator at The 1010 Project since the summer of 2008. He was drawn to the organization because of their focus on relationships and their commitment to changing the conversation about poverty. He focuses on telling the stories of The 1010 Project’s innovative partners as they break the cycle of poverty.

Ryan currently lives in Denver, CO. where he is an M.A. Candidate in International Development at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. He hopes to use his studies to work for the poor and the marginalized world-wide.

Before working for The 1010 Project, Ryan spent some time in Egypt, where he met his beautiful wife, Amber, and taught English at an International school. In his free time, he likes to read, write, and play music. If he was completely honest, he would admit that he is a downright nerd who likes anything Star Wars -related and the Wii.
